- Mostly RPGs. We do D&D, D20 Modern, Cthulhu, Paranoia, and some other systems as well. There are four LARPs over the weekend, and a large variety of miniatures games. There will also be some card and board game demos I think. So I like to think we cover a big part of the spectrum. We don't have any collectible card game events this year, but we may in the future.

- In FanimeCon's ten-year span, we have grown to be one of the largest anime conventions in the country, home to panels, videos and video premieres, special guest appearances, concerts, and more. The 2003 season established a record convention size both in space and attendance, with FanimeCon occupying the entirety of the Santa Clara Convention Center and the adjacent Westin Santa Clara, and being host to over 5,500 attendees. - Further Confusion is a broad-interest sf & fantasy convention with an anthropomorphic slant that occurs in San Jose, California. 'Furries' are intelligent man-similar animals or aliens - like Chewbakka or Yoda from Star Wars - or Bugs Bunny from the cartoons. Further Confusion seeks to highlight anthropormorphic characters in art, music, literature ... and in games. So monsters, aliens and ... gnomes from Zurich fit in with the motif.

- Local game convention one of oldest in world The Conflict Simulation Society will be holding its thirty-first annual Winter War gaming convention, running February 6-8, 2009. The Winter War gaming convention features a variety of board games (from Axis & Allies to Republic of Rome), miniatures (from historical recreations to old west shootouts to modern tank battles) and role-playing events (from Champions to Star Wars), as well as open gaming, dealers and a popular live auction. The first Winter War was a small gathering of gamers held in January of 1974, making the convention one of the longest running game conventions in the world. Last year's Winter War convention had over 400 attendees, with some traveling from as far away as Washington St
